NEWS RELEASE: AUGUST 4, 2025 

We are thrilled to announce and welcome Bob Lavoie to the Chatham Pool Sharks team as our new Head Coach!

​

Coach Bob brings a wealth of experience and passion for the sport of swimming. Over his 20+ years of coaching, he has:

• Guided multiple swimmers to Canadian National Swim Championships

• Coached 12 swimmers to USA college scholarships and many others to Canadian University swim programs

• Led numerous athletes to success at the Ontario Provincial Swim Championships and International Children’s Games, even serving as Team Manager for Team Canada at the ICG in Athens, Greece

• Owned/Operated SWIM2WIN for 20 years, fostering excellence and love for swimming in countless athletes

• Served as an on deck official at 3 Canadian National Swim Championships and 2 Canadian World Trials

• Earned recognition as the only regional person to both coach and officiate at multiple Canadian National Swim Championships

In addition to his extensive coaching background, Bob is certified through the National Coaching Certification Program and is trained in Safe Sport, Sport Nutrition, and creating positive, ethical, and inclusive sport environments.

Bob is married to his high-school sweetheart Kathleen. They are the proud parents to Cody and Maddy Lavoie, both former NCAA All-American swimmers who have gone on to make their own marks in the swimming world: Maddy, a DSU Hall of Fame inductee; and Cody is currently the owner/head coach of the Dallas Fast Fins.
