The Chatham Pool Sharks swim club is looking for coaches for the 2025–2026 season! We’re looking for passionate, committed coaches for the following roles:

    •    Head Coach

    •    Assistant Coaches

    •    Group Coaches (Intro to Senior levels)


We are a supportive, community-based club focused on swimmer development, sportsmanship, and a love of the sport—from beginners to competitive athletes. If you love the sport and want to help young athletes grow, we want to hear from you!

Head Coach

Key Responsibilities:

    •    Lead the club’s coaching staff and overall training strategy

    •    Develop and implement season plans and swimmer progression

    •    Oversee daily training sessions and group schedules

    •    Attend swim meets and manage meet entries

    •    Communicate regularly with swimmers, families, and the Board

    •    Promote a positive and inclusive team culture

    •    Represent the club at regional/provincial meetings as needed


Qualifications:

    •    NCCP Level 2 (Competition – Introduction) minimum; Level 3 preferred

    •    CSCA member in good standing

    •    Head Coach or senior-level coaching experience

    •    Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills

    •    First Aid/CPR certification

    •    Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) required

Assistant and Group Coaches

Key Responsibilities:

    •    Plan and lead practices for assigned swim groups

    •    Support and track swimmer development

    •    Provide stroke correction and technique feedback

    •    Attend scheduled swim meets and club events

    •    Contribute to a team-first, athlete-centered environment


Qualifications:

    •    NCCP Level 1 (Swimming 101) minimum; Level 2 preferred for senior group coaches

    •    Coaching or competitive swimming background preferred

    •    Energetic, reliable, and committed to swimmer growth

    •    First Aid/CPR certification

    •    PVSC required

Junior Coach - Entry Level

The Junior Coach supports group coaches and the Head Coach by assisting with practices, encouraging swimmer development, and fostering a fun, inclusive team environment. This is an excellent opportunity for current or former swimmers interested in gaining coaching experience.


Key Responsibilities:

    •    Assist lead/group coaches during practices (on deck)

    •    Help demonstrate drills, skills, and techniques as needed

    •    Provide positive feedback and encouragement to swimmers

    •    Ensure swimmers are following instructions and staying engaged

    •    Support at team events, time trials, and swim meets when requested

    •    Serve as a role model and team ambassador


Qualifications:

    •    Minimum age: 14 years old

    •    Previous experience as a swimmer (with Chatham Pool Sharks or another club)

    •    Enthusiastic, dependable, and respectful with a positive attitude

    •    Comfortable working with children of various ages

    •    Red Cross Babysitter’s Course, Bronze Star/Med/Cross, or Swim Instructor training is an asset

    •    Must complete Respect in Sport for Activity Leaders

    •    Police Vulnerable Sector Check may be required (depending on age)
